Th e franchise won its first and only NBA championship while based in Rochester in 1951. This championship preceded their move to other cities.

Origin as the Rochester Royals : Before moving to Sacramento, the team originated as the Rochester Royals in New York in 1945. They won an NBA championship in 1951 while based in Rochester.

The team's current home, the Golden 1 Center, is one of the most advanced and sustainable arenas in the NBA. 

Impact of "Arco Thunder" The team's previous home, Arco Arena, was known for its high-decibel levels during games. The term "Arco Thunder" was coined due to the intense noise generated by fans, creating a challenging environment for visiting teams.
